At the moment I'm exhibiting two works at the I AM LEGION custom toy show at the 1am gallery in San Francisco alongside great artists like Frank Kozik, Ferg, Luke Chueh, Amanda Visell, etc.

just bought a DIY Dropcloth... and my wwrp bertie and bertie container still need some decals...
also my brothers Bamba is still a little pale....

i will dust my brushes and dig out my acrylic paints...
and i'm gonna paint some robots...

Swamp Attack Mintie

WORLD WAR ROBOT INSPIRED: Swamp Attack Mintie

This is Mintie...
A bot made out of various parts I've found in my household...
An empty colour can.. a gashapon bubble... screws... and some parts of a broken Matrix A.P.U. figure.
I've decided to try another new paint-theme... some green-ish, swamp-ish, army-ish paintjob..
This time little to no rust at all.. but lots of dirt, oil and scratches...

Backstory:
Mintie is a Bot, used in Swamp areas. They are small, so that they nearly dissapear in the high grasses of the swamps. This is a huge strategic advantage for them. The army uses the minties as pioneers to clean the swamp areas from mines and enemy soldiers. Instead of hands/arms they have heavy M134 guns, which are also known as mini gun. The firepower of these guns enable the possibility to destroy whole forest areas, to make it easier finding the enemy.

WWR inspired: Desert Defence Ernie

When I went to an Asia store... I bought myself a can of wasabi covered peanuts... because the can looked really awesome to use.. and in the same store i've also found some gashapons...
After combining these two parts, it screamed: BERTIEEEE!

So I searched some more parts... but i haven't found any good ones... so i took some tentacles from a Matrix Sentinel Figure for the arms ... and ... *suprise* a TP roll for the pipe between the legs.. and some random stuff which I've found in the household (pens, hot glue sticks, screws, cardboard, etc) ....

After doing a lot of these "hammered metal feel" paint jobs... I've decided to try a DESERT-style one.
(i decided to take the same decals as the ones, the existing 3AA exclusive Desert Attack Bramble has... so that they fit together)

Backstory:
Ernie's are spin off's of the Bertie bots.
They use the same Body to save production costs, but have more flexible arms, to do non-combat work at the field.
Aside from combat they are also used for easy repairs on bigger bots, as well as building trenches and similar work, where flexibility and strength is needed.

Nachtwache... one of my favourite bot designs...
but sadly NW is chase only :(
Haven't been lucky enough to get any NW style bot.
and after i realized that i will never ever get a NW large Martin... i've decided that THIS will be my 1:12 Martins design...

was fast and easy to do...
Large Martin was made out of 3 empty tape-rolls.. some cardboard... some TP rolls.. .a little bit of wood... some crown corks.. and some broken pens... that's it.

My third 1:6 WWR inspired Bot. He was built out of various parts:
Parts from Matrix A.P.U. and Real World neo base..
The body is a dvd spindle box with cardboard... parts of a gashapon, pvc pipe...
and lots of paint.
The figure 9 points of Articulation.

Story: Moloch the rusty Tin Can was constructed by various parts from old battle robots, which were rotting at the scrapyard.
Some Rebels re-activated this Bot to build a scrapyard-robot-battalion.
No one knows their real purposes...

Deep Powder Stewie a.k.a. Bonhomme de Neige

World War Robot Inspired: Deep Powder Stewie "Bonhomme de Neige"

Height: 6.3 inches

Finished: July 2009

This is my second try on a Deep Powder paint job.
Stewie was made out of totally random parts i've found in my household... for example a broken sharpie pen, some screws, a gashapon bubble, a crowncork, a broken pen... the arms are from a Spider-Man 2 Movie Dr. Octopus figure. The body was a measuring cap which came with a washing powder.

Deep Powder Stewie might look quite cute with his nose and eyes. But that's just to distract the enemy. His 'nose' is a deadly armor-piercing 120mm gun.

They gave him the nickname 'bonhomme de neige' because of his resemblance to a snowman. Some platoons paint Stewies gun orange to raise the distraction-factor.
